AFTER HOURS

ON CALL PROVIDERS

The doctors take emergency calls from their homes after hours. Call the main office number and our answering service will page one of our doctors to call you back.


During the week, all providers will cover themselves from Monday night to Friday morning. On the weekends, one of the providers covers the entire practice. We feel it is best for patients to be able to reach their regular provider, if possible, to ensure continuity of care.



Please save routine questions (mild illness, appointments, prescription refills) for the morning. We encourage you to refer to our website first, if practical, before calling the office. Please have a pen, paper and your pharmacy telephone number available when asking us for advice about an illness.


If you have a caller ID block on your telephone, please remove it by pressing *82 before the doctor returns your call or he/she may have trouble reaching you.

Emergencies

If an emergency should arise, please call 911.

Should a medical emergency arise, please call DeVito and Alvarado Pediatric Associates anytime- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If the office is closed, our answering service will take your call and one of our doctors will be paged and will call you back promptly. If the emergency is life threatening, please call 911 immediately.

Emergencies are considered to be those conditions that are life-threatening: loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, seizure, etc. In the case of minor emergencies (lacerations, cuts, mild fractures, sprains), please call our office first for instructions.
